It also handles subbed stuff from *gasp* other groups okay.except when trying to stream high-def stuff like mkv. It's always streamed everything TV-Nihon has done fine. * Your TVersity server should show up in the list of available video folders. * On your 360, go to TV and Movies and hit My Video Apps. It will take a little bit for it to process them. * Go into its Library and add the folders you want to share. Phpbb ps3 media server install#* Install TVersity on your PC (either pay the $4 or look at some old version sites for a free version) For a while, I was just streaming directly from PC to the 360 through the network, but that stopped working, and when I went back to TVersity, it still was. I don't believe the latest version is free but mine still works. I think I have an older version that's free. Phpbb ps3 media server plus#Interestingly enough, I didn't pay for it. Ok so try doing this, Under general configuration try setting your IP address (under force IP address), plus set your normal network adapter (in Force network adaptor). I have then bridged the two routers so people can transfer files to the media center and the PS3 can get to the internet.Just like take posted on the feed, I use TVersity to stream to my 360. Recently I aquired another WRT54GS router which I loaded with v24 RC5, I now have the PS3 and media server connected here (behaves the same as above as WRT54GS is doing the switch bit) but in addition I have also set up the wireless part as a hotspot and I'm using QoS to restrict the amout of badwidth given to this. This worked great, all the network traffic between the PS3 and the media server stayed locally on the swithch and did not affect the reset of the network.Ģ. I bought a cheap Netgear 4 Port switch (£25) and connected the Twonkyvision media server and the PS3 to this, using a spare LAN port on the router to connect to the uplink port of the switch. So I decided to revisit my setup and see what I could do to imporve performance, the following are the two solutions I have employed with great success and without the need for any QoS.ġ. I then bumpped into the bandwidth consumption problem you describe, streeming to the PS3 consumed all the bandwidth on the network and made it unusable for others. Straight away my PS3 found the Twonkyvision server and in no time I was streaming audio and video without any problem. Setting this up was really easy and took about 30 mins including the install. I decided to give this a go, it has versions that run on Windows and Unix, I chose the latter for several reasons, first becuase I wanted to play around with Linux, second becuase I had an old dell PC lying arround and thirdly becuase I felt Linux to me more stable for long period of up-time. I did some research on the internet and found a product called Twonkyvision which is a DNLA certified media server that supports PS3, PSP, xbox and a shed load of audio/video formats out of the box. I too am using my PS3 as a Media Client for all my music and video, and was originaly steaming it from my Media Centre PC with the same problem. This post is quite old, but I thought I would share my experinces with you. If i copy the file to the PS3 over wireless and then play it, there is no problem. When i stream media to ms PS3 from the PC, it starts and stops. Phpbb ps3 media server how to#I can't figure out how to setup QoS (or in fact if i even need it). I set the Wireless Media Support to default - on
